Facebook Drops, Instagram Shows Promise?

In a stock analysis interview with Yahoo’s Breakout, “Stock analysis you can trust,” guest speaker Michael Eisenberg of Benchmark Capital is optimistically looking forward to the future of Instagram and smart phone technology.

The argument falls under the category of youth communication specifically, arguing that most children these days have never even heard of AOL Instant Messenger, and use things like Facebook and Instagram which shows a supposedly deeper level of emotional connection over the phone. Facebook bought out Instragram, an app using the iPhone camera software for $1 billion, jumping behind this new technology. With new levels of technology comes different levels of security, but Eisenberg argues that it won’t be an issue because it will becoming part of parenting: Don’t do things on your Facebook, etc. that can be traced back to you later in life when you’ll regret it. Now, instead, more people have smart phones than ever and they’re becoming an essential part of the consumer market rather than a luxury item.
